AI
Thursday, September 04, 2025It’s been a while.
I made this image, above, using ChatGPT’s Sora. There’s a lot more interesting content there to explore.
I first tried it out of curiosity. I thought I could use it to generate images I wanted to portray visually, but couldn’t because I lack the artistic skill. Hopefully, by generating such images, I’m not undermining the work of other artists in the process.
AI.
I have mixed feelings about it. I’m not against it—in fact, I use it often, especially at work. It helps a great deal with tedious, menial, and repetitive tasks that I can simply hand off to ChatGPT. For example, comparing two different CSV files and spotting the differences.
Mostly, though, I use it to translate from Tagalog to English—especially when I’m too tired to construct a clearer, more professional version of what I want to say at work.
On the downside, AI has been misused and abused countless times. I even lost a job once because, according to my boss, she no longer needed developers to help create and maintain her web apps—AI could generate the code for her instead.
I wasn’t sure how to respond to her misconception about using AI to build a proper web app, but ultimately, it was her decision.
